Before Treatment
Before treatment, Robyn was living with a condition that visibly affected her skin and made everyday life more difficult. With limited options available, finding an approach that could help became increasingly important.

Searching for Answers
Like many people living with rare or complex conditions, Robyn’s journey involved uncertainty and a search for better answers. Each step brought new questions about what might work and what options were still worth exploring.
A New Treatment Possibility
Eventually, a new treatment approach offered Robyn another path forward after a long period of uncertainty. For her and her family, it meant the possibility of moving beyond simply managing symptoms and toward greater stability in everyday life. Her experience reflects the promise of looking differently at medicines that already exist — asking whether a treatment developed for one purpose could help address an entirely different condition. That kind of thinking can open new possibilities for patients who may otherwise have very limited options, turning overlooked scientific opportunities into meaningful progress.
"I was given months to live. Sirolimus changed everything. I've been in remission for four years, watching my kids grow up."
Why Her Story Matters
Robyn’s story is a reminder that behind every research program is a person waiting for better options. By identifying and advancing promising treatment possibilities, Every Cure aims to help more patients move from uncertainty toward greater hope and stability.
What the Evidence Shows
Research has continued beyond the initial discovery. Published studies have evaluated sirolimus in patients with refractory or relapsed iMCD, including retrospective clinical evidence and prospective trials.
A 2024 retrospective study of 26 patients reported symptomatic and biochemical responses in 18 patients, while additional prospective research continues to evaluate when and for whom sirolimus may be useful.for Robyn. Replace with the real patient story.
